DEFEND UNION RIGHTS
Wojtek, a UCU (University & Colleges Union) member, has been sacked by New City College.
​
​His dismissal is a clear attack on the right to organise as a trade union rep. It is yet another attempt to silence the UCU at the college.
​
His local branch have now voted by a huge majority in favour of strike action to support his reinstatement.

Latest from the Arbour Square and Poplar UCU branches at NCC (14 February 2026)
UCU members at the Arbour Square and Poplar branches of New City College have voted overwhelmingly for strike action to defend Wojtek Dmochowski.
Over 92% of members declared their willingness to take industrial action.​
The ballot gives staff a legal mandate to strike.

​Wojtek has worked at New City College for 23 years as a dedicated and much-loved ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher, colleague, and UCU member.
He is widely respected for his integrity, courage, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his students.
Many also know him through his campaigning work, including the Big Ride for Palestine and his opposition to the ongoing genocide.
